Why shoot Zurich?

Zurich's old town wraps both banks of the Limmat before the river leaves the lake, and almost every frame in it uses the water. The Grossmünster carries two matching towers on the east bank, the Fraumünster a single slim spire opposite, and St. Peter between them holds the largest church clock face in Europe at over eight meters across. Below the churches the Schipfe keeps the oldest houses in the city stacked along the water, and the Lindenhof terrace sits above them on the site of the Roman fort, high enough to put the whole river bend in one shot.

On a Zurich photo tour with me, you'll start on the Münsterbrücke while the Limmat is still holding a clean reflection, then climb to the Lindenhof for the old town from above before the terrace fills. The quieter frames are the Schipfe lanes along the water and the Rathaus seen from the far bank. We walk the whole historic core and take a local taxi only for the stretch down to the lakefront. One thing worth knowing in advance: the Fraumünster does not allow photography inside, so we shoot its spire from the river rather than the windows. Beginners leave with a sharper eye and confident use of aperture priority. Pros leave with compositions they wouldn't have found alone.

What you'll photograph

The frames you'll typically take home include church towers reflected in the Limmat, the old town seen from the Lindenhof terrace, riverside houses in the Schipfe, Romanesque and Gothic detail on the church exteriors, and the lake opening south from the end of the river. We adapt the route to the season and the subjects you like to shoot.

He has endless patience and great didactic method on both technique and composition. It brought a boost to my photography path and it opened my eyes to capture the moments with more than the technical eyes.
