How much walking is involved?

Walking is moderate and relaxed. We move at your pace and take breaks whenever needed. Expect to walk about 4 kilometers per 3-hour tour.

Can I do a multi-city or multi-day photo tour?

Yes. I run multi-day tours that combine two or three destinations, for example Prague and Dresden, or Vienna and Hallstatt. Send me a brief with your dates and the cities you'd like to shoot, and I'll come back with a route.

How do I choose the right destination for my photography style?

Prague and Vienna are best for dense historic architecture and Gothic or baroque skylines. Hallstatt and Salzburg suit landscape-heavy shoots in Alpine settings. Berlin is the strongest pick for modern and contrasted architecture. Český Krumlov, Rothenburg, and Karlovy Vary work well as half-day side trips from Prague or Munich.

Are tours available year-round?

Yes. The light and atmosphere change with the season, but the tour runs as planned. Winter offers softer light and fewer crowds; summer brings longer blue hour windows; autumn and spring give the most varied skies. I'll plan around what your dates offer.

What if you don't have a tour in my preferred city?

Send me a brief. For routes I haven't shot before, I sometimes scout a new location and design a tour around it. If it doesn't work this time, the closest published tour is usually the fastest path to a great shoot.

Can I customise the route or ask for specific locations?

Yes. Send me a rough brief or a shot list when you book and the route is built around what you like to shoot. If you have no specific list, the day is shaped around the strongest light at each spot for your dates.

How far in advance should I book?

I recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance, especially during peak travel seasons (May-September). For popular destinations like Vienna or Hallstatt with its iconic Alpine scenery making an excellent subject for photography, even earlier booking is advisable. However, I sometimes have last-minute availability, so don't hesitate to inquire even for short-notice requests.

What camera gear should I bring?

Bring whatever camera equipment you're comfortable using, whether that's a professional DSLR with multiple lenses or a smartphone with a good camera. A versatile zoom lens (24-70mm equivalent) is ideal for most situations. For specific destinations, I can provide more detailed equipment recommendations. A tripod is optional but recommended for low-light situations.

Not at all. You can use anything from a smartphone to a mirrorless or DSLR camera. The focus is on light, composition, and seeing the city photographically.

Early morning is ideal for peaceful scenes and soft light. Sunset is also excellent for warm tones and reflections.

Weather changes the photo, not the day. Fog, rain, and flat midday light are some of my favorite conditions to teach in. They often lead to the most distinctive shots. The tour runs as planned.

Yes. Partners or family members are welcome at no extra cost, as long as they're comfortable with the pace.

How do I pay? Which payment methods do you accept?

Credit card, debit card, and bank transfer in EUR, USD, GBP or CZK. Card payments are processed at the day's exchange rate. Invoice with VAT details is available on request. Cash is possible on request.

Do you require a deposit?

Accepted Answer

A 50% deposit confirms your tour date. The remaining 50% is due 14 days before the tour. Multi-day tours may use a different schedule, agreed during booking.

Can I get an invoice for my company?

Yes - let me know beforehand your company name, billing address, and VAT ID and after the tour, you'll receive a PDF invoice that meets EU VAT requirements.

What currency do you charge in?

EUR is the default and on the day of payment will be converted to CZK that is used for payment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations made more than 30 days before the tour date receive a full refund minus a small administrative fee. Cancellations 15-30 days before receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 15 days before the tour date are non-refundable. However, I understand that travel plans can change, and I'll do my best to accommodate rescheduling when possible.

Pricing depends on destination, length, and number of locations. Half-day tours typically start lower than full-day; multi-day tours scale by the day. Check each destination card for that destination's lowest price.

Where do we meet, and what should I bring on the day?

The meeting point is confirmed in your booking email — usually a central, easy-to-find landmark or your hotel lobby. Bring your camera, a spare battery, comfortable footwear, water, and a layer for early-morning starts. Tripod optional.

For multi-destination tours, transportation between cities is not included in the standard tour price. However, I can arrange private transportation for an additional fee, or provide guidance on using public transportation options. For locations within the same city or immediate area, local transportation during the tour is included.

Some museums allow photography without flash, but the tour mainly focuses on exteriors, streets, and riverfront scenes where photography is unrestricted.

I am a photographer, not a historian. If you expect a historic tour of Český Krumlov, please, don't. We will focus on capturing beautiful images of this picturesque little town.

Can we photograph at night?

Yes. Our tours usually include blue hour to get beautiful night scenes with illuminated landmarks. However, it's not recommended to shoot beyond the blue hour period as the contrast gets too big.

Yes. The Christkindlesmarkt (late November–December) is one of Europe’s most atmospheric winter photo locations.

Will you edit my photos for me?

Editing isn't included. You shoot the photos; on the day I show you in-camera what makes a frame work and what to fix later in Lightroom. Multi-day tours include written or spoken feedback on a small set of your edits.

Can I get feedback on my edits after the tour?

Yes. Send 5–10 of your edits within 30 days of the tour and you'll get written or spoken notes on each: what's working, what to push, what to dial back. No extra cost.

On-request, yes. After every tour you get a one-page recap with each location's name, GPS pin, and the time-of-day note for when the light works best. Useful if you want to return on your own.
