Why shoot Rothenburg ob der Tauber?

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is the most intact medieval walled town on Germany's Romantic Road. The half-timbered facades along Spitalgasse, the Plönlein corner with the Siebersturm gatehouse, and the walkable city wall give you frame after frame of fairy-tale Bavarian architecture, and the Tauber valley below the burggarten opens up landscape compositions you can pair with the town views. The compactness lets you cover the whole place in an evening and a morning.

On a Rothenburg photo tour with me, you'll catch the Plönlein corner at golden hour, walk the town wall above the rooftops at twilight, and find the Marktplatz and the side lanes before the day-trippers arrive in the morning. We mostly walk between locations, with Uber rides for any longer transfers, so you'll never have to rush. Beginners leave with a sharper eye and confident use of aperture priority.
