Why shoot České Budějovice?
České Budějovice is the South Bohemian regional capital, about 150 kilometres south of Prague. Náměstí Přemysla Otakara II, one of the largest historic squares in Central Europe, is lined with arcaded Renaissance and Baroque facades and centred on Samson's Fountain. The 72-metre Black Tower opens onto a 360-degree panorama, and the medieval town gates and riverside paths complete the historic core within a 15-minute walk.
On a České Budějovice photo tour with me, you'll catch the arcaded square from the western corner at blue hour, work the Baroque facades through midday, and shoot the city panorama from the Black Tower terrace at golden hour. We typically pair České Budějovice with Český Krumlov for a full day from Prague, with the drive by car (~2 hours each way). Beginners leave with a sharper eye and confident use of aperture priority. Pros leave with compositions they wouldn't have found alone.
