Why shoot Kutná Hora?
Kutná Hora is a UNESCO former silver-mining town about 70 kilometres east of Prague. St Barbara's Cathedral, with its triple-tent Gothic roof and exterior flying buttresses, anchors the historic centre, while the Italian Court, the former Royal Mint, the Jesuit College, and a network of narrow medieval lanes fill in around it. Three kilometres north in the Sedlec district, the ossuary chapel has decorated its interior with thousands of human bones since the 14th century.
On a Kutná Hora photo tour with me, you'll work St Barbara's Cathedral exterior at first light, the cathedral nave under midday stained-glass colour, and the Jesuit terrace at golden hour. We also visit the Sedlec ossuary 3 km north (no interior photography since 2020) for the chapel exterior. We Uber from Prague (~1 hour each way) and walk the historic centre on foot. Beginners leave with a sharper eye and confident use of aperture priority. Pros leave with compositions they wouldn't have found alone.
What you'll photograph
The frames you'll typically take home include the Gothic cathedral exterior with its tent roof at golden hour, the cathedral nave under midday stained-glass colour, the Jesuit terrace view across to the cathedral, and the medieval lanes leading up through the historic core. We adapt the route to the light and the subjects you like to shoot.
